Google Tag Manager
Google Tag manager is the container that holds your tracking codes.
It’s 3 main benefits are:
- You are not dependent on a webmaster
- It loads synchronously
- It’s free
Since I couldn’t add the code to the Squarespace site (it required an upgrade), here’s how it looks in WordPress.
Verify the installation:
Google Analytics
Log in to Google Analytics
In Admin, hit Create Account

Create an Account and choose the data sharing settings

Add the name of the project

Add business details

Choose your business objectives

Read and accept the Terms & Conditions

Choose the platform

Add the URL and name, then hit “Create & continue”

Install Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager
You’ll need your web stream details, copy the Measurement ID

Go to Google Tag Manager, choose Google Tags
